August 29, 2019 – 6th Grade Teacher’s Notes
Don’t forget, no school on Monday! Enjoy your Labor Day weekend! If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Literature– We have finished The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The students created a “fantasy kingdom” and presented them in class.
Math– 6th math took their first math test today. We start Unit 2 on Tuesday.
Just a reminder- If a student receives below a 70%, that paper will be sent home for the student to make corrections and get a parent signature. The purpose of corrections is to allow that student to relearn the material while making the corrections.
Literature- We have started our new novel, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
Math- The first 7th grade math test will be on Wednesday. We will have our first “traveling math” tomorrow!
Social Studies- This upcoming week we will be studying Eastern Africa. Key vocabulary words are: barter, economy, climate, and bands.
Just wanted to give you an update: Instead of signing assignment notebooks; I am using a sticker corresponding to the color they earned with the communication chart for that day.
