May 17, 2019 – 5th Grade Teacher’s Notes
This week begins our last week of 5th grade! Summer is almost here! I know the students are looking forward to a break from school.
I cannot thank you enough for your support, prayers, and partnership throughout the school year. Your families have been a joy to serve.
Things to Know:
Fifth grade would like to invite you to our poetry party on Thursday, May 23 at 2:15 in the Parlor. You will enjoy original poetry written by our fifth grade poets. You are in for a treat!
In order to keep with a poetry reading feel, students are encouraged to dress as if they are from the 70s. Bell bottom jeans, tie-dye shirts, peace signs, bright colors, would all be encouraged. Students are allowed to wear their 70s apparel to school, but should just bring props along in a bag (sunglasses, wigs, beaded necklaces, etc… ).
Students should remember when choosing clothing for the day, that we will have recess outside on that day. Comfortable shoes for running are best. Students would be allowed to change shoes or into jeans (due to hot weather) before the party. Please let me know if you have any questions.
