May 17, 2019 – From the Head of School

This is the last edition for the 2018-2019 school year.

We hope you enjoyed yesterday evening as much as we did.  It was a pleasure sharing our annual musical with you as well as capping off the evening with a celebration of Mrs. Peggy Tholen’s service to the families of Our Redeemer.

Speaking of a celebration of service, Barbara Timberlake, who does our morning Kids’ Klub and assists in the PK3 classroom, has announced her retirement. We are thankful for her years of service and will celebrate her this coming Tuesday, May 21, at 7:45am with “Tuesday with Mrs. Timberlake.”  We will serve a breakfast menu similar to our Muffins with Moms event. All parents and students are invited to join us for breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. A box will be placed for those who wish to bring cards and gifts.

There have been many exciting changes this school year, and more to come. Many of you have noticed that our school logo changed the first quarter of this school year. We love our new Cross Potent and its meaningful connection to our mission. Our new website launched in the second quarter of this school year and it is garnished with our new logo. For the 2019-2020 school year, we are launching a new style of school uniforms that also has the new logo. The new uniform website will be up and running on June 1 so that our families will have plenty of time to log in and order. Ms. Schwarze will send out a link when that time comes. Until then, here are a few things to know:

You do not need to toss your current uniforms. For this coming school year, students will be permitted to wear the new style uniform as well as the current style. This will allow for a slow transition. Please do not feel like you need to purchase the new style of uniform if your current uniforms still fit. Our Wildcat Parent Leaders have designated some uniform funds to assist families who have economic hardship. Those families can contact me this summer if additional assistance is needed.

Tommy Hilfiger has promised me that they have improved their supply and quality, so that our school will have uniforms that arrive in a timely manner and last an appropriate duration of time. I have taken them at their word and we are remaining with Tommy Hilfiger for our uniforms.

We look forward to the uniform website launching on June 1 and will share the link with you as soon as it becomes available.

We find ourselves at the last week of school. You and your children have brought such joy into our lives this school year. I pray that God continues to bless your family and Our Redeemer. The faculty and staff look forward to seeing you again soon on August 11 for our Welcome Back Event and Orientations. To God be the Glory for all He accomplished here this school year.

In Him,
Corey Moss
