I am a native Texan born in Vernon and raised in Houston. I am a product of Lutheran elementary and middle school and then public high school. I received my education degree from Concordia Lutheran College–Austin and Concordia Teachers College–Seward, Nebraska (now Concordia Univ.–Neb.).
My first teaching assignment was at Grace Lutheran in Kansas City, Kansas. My wife, Donna and I came to Our Redeemer–Dallas in 1974. We have four children, all who live in the Dallas area.
My duties have ranged from class room teacher in the middle school grades, coach, athletic director, youth director and assistant principal. I retired in 2015, but now am back serving as athletic director and coach on a part time basis.
The Lord has blessed my family and I while serving him all these years, and hope to do so until he finds another activity for me to be involved with as His servant.
Physical Education: Kam Manthe
Hi! I am Kamara (Kam) Manthe and I’m so excited to be at Our Redeemer. I’ve been teaching for the past 12 years; this year I am very excited to be teaching PE! I graduated from Concordia University Irvine with my Bachelor’s degree in Education and a concentration in Spanish. I have also completed coursework towards a Master’s in Education, but that is a work in progress :).
I have 4 children; Matthew and Mya are twins, Noah, and Kinsley. In any free time I can find I like to be outdoors with the family, running or swimming. I also enjoy reading, baking, and of course my coffee!
I feel very blessed to be a part of the Our Redeemer family. I look forward to the time I will spend with your children and I pray it will be an amazing year!
