September 6, 2019 – 6th Grade Teacher’s Notes
It was great to see all the Grandparent’s today! I am thankful some were able to attend and fun to watch their interactions with the students.
Literature– We are in the midst of our new novel, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
Math– 6th math has moved into multiplying and dividing fractions.
Just wanted to give you an update: Instead of signing assignment notebooks; I am using a sticker corresponding to the color they earned with the communication chart for that day.
Also, don’t forget to check in on Friday with the graded papers that come home.
Literature- We will be practicing a little “Michelangelo” this week, stay tuned to for an update on our artistic skills. We will continue reading our novel, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
Social Studies- This upcoming week we will be studying Middle Africa. Key vocabulary words are: export, natural resource, and civil war.
Language Arts– We’ve been working on subject and predicates and getting close to starting diagramming.
Garden starts next week!
