September 6, 2019 – Kindergarten Teacher’s Notes
The children are doing a great job learning how to do things “the Kindergarten way”. They were very happy to be back at school on Tuesday and settled right in to work. Of course, we have play time and fun times, too.
In reading, we are focusing on the letter Ll. We learned a song for writing letters and numbers: Where do you start your letters? At the top! (Repeat) If you want to write your letters, then you better, better, better…..be sure to start your letters at the top! (Tune: “If you’re Happy and You Know It) That song will help us remember that all letters (and numbers) start at the top; no letters are written bottom up. Watch your child write at home and gently correct until it becomes a new habit.
In Jesus Time we are making about ourselves called “I Am Special”. It is about each individual child. This will take about two weeks to complete and will be sent home when it is completed.
The children really like going to special classes. This helps them learn new skills and interact with a different teacher.
We were glad to meet the grandparents and special friends of children in our class. Thank you for arranging for them to visit at school at lunch. I’m sure they enjoyed themselves, too.
I am really enjoying being your child’s teacher. If you ever have any questions, please ask me. Communication between parents and teacher is so important.
