Ones Teacher

I have been in preschool classrooms for the last 3 years, but this is my first year as a lead teacher for one-year-olds, and I’m so excited to begin this journey! I have training in CCEI and Frogstreet, which has helped prepare me to support little learners as they grow, explore, and reach new milestones.

I was inspired to become a teacher while working as an assistant at OR. Watching all the amazing teachers here and seeing the impact they make in each child’s life showed me how meaningful this work is. It made me realize that I wanted to be part of creating an encouraging, supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn.

One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching the kids grow and reach their milestones—those little moments of progress and discovery are so special. My favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:30, “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith,” because it reminds me that God is always with me and takes care of me.

A life concept I strive to teach my students, even at just one year old, is persistence. They are already learning to keep trying, and I want to encourage them not to give up while cheering them on every step of the way.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, walking my dog, and spending time with my family. My favorite travel destination is Guatemala. The food is amazing, the scenery is beautiful, and I love visiting the place I once called home and hearing the stories from my past there.

I love being part of this school because the community is so positive and truly focused on creating a caring environment for all children. I’m grateful to contribute to that mission and excited for all the growth and joy ahead.
