Kaci Porter

Art Teacher

I have been teaching for 7 years, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to help students express themselves creatively. I hold a Visual Art Studies degree, a drawing and painting degree, and an art teaching certificate—all of which have shaped my approach to teaching and creating art.

I became a teacher because I’ve always loved learning new things and sharing what I know with others. One of my favorite parts of teaching is seeing the creative ideas my students come up with; their imagination inspires my own and keeps my work fresh and exciting.

A life lesson I strive to teach my students is that it’s okay to fail. In fact, you often learn more from your failures than from your successes, and I want them to feel safe exploring, experimenting, and growing.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading and spending time with my six animals—three cats and three dogs—who definitely keep life interesting.

What I enjoy most about being part of this school community is how uplifting and supportive everyone is. People genuinely try to make you feel included, and it’s wonderful to be part of a place where encouragement and creativity go hand in hand.
