Natalie Reistad

2nd Grade Teacher

My name is Natalie Reistad, and this is my 5th year teaching at Our Redeemer. I have a masters degree in psychology, and I taught for a year at a Lutheran school in the DC area before moving to Dallas.

I was inspired to become a teacher by influential role models I met in college who worked in Lutheran education. I love seeing children accomplish something they once struggled with and making even the smallest lessons fun—I want my students to love learning.

My favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 2:8–10:
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

A core life lesson I strive to teach is that through Christ, we can do hard things and embrace new experiences with confidence.

Outside of school, I enjoy creating and crafting, spending time outdoors, and being with family and friends. A fun fact about me is that I was born in Hawaii!

What I love most about being part of this school community is how close-knit it is. You truly get to know the families and students, even those who aren’t in your class!
